What is it allowed by the spanish law ?

- Semen and egg donation are allowed
- It is allowed to apply these techniques to single women.
- Embryo reduction, is allowed in case of triplet pregnancy.
- Economic reward to egg and semen donors is allowed.
- It is allowed to realize Preimplantational Genetic Diagnostics (DGP) of embryos.

What is it forbidden by the spanish law ?
|
- It is forbidden the he/she-donor choice. The medical team chooses the he/she-donor according to donor's blood compatibility and physical resemblance.
- It is forbidden to know donor's identity. Family or friend donors are excluded. Donation must be anonymous.
- Embryo sex selection it is forbidden unless it prevents sex-related genetic diseases.
- Surrogacy is forbidden .
- It is forbiden to destruct frozen embryos that the couple does not wish. Those can either be maintained frozen during the reproductive life of the woman, or donated to other couples undergoing fertility treatments, or being included in investigation programmes to obtain stem cells.
